"Exceedingly Powerful Image Capture Machine"
Pros: Solid, Fast, Impressive Image Quality, Adaptable
Cons: No Built-In View Finder Shutter
Summary: I have used all sorts of cameras over the years, from manual and automatic 35mm SLR's like the F2, F4 and F5, many medium format cameras, and 4x5 & 8x10 view cameras. I have not found any camera that gives a more successful user experience than the D200. It exudes strength and dependability. If you are curious about tech data there are plenty of wonderful reviews. The image quality is great. I have made a number of enlargements from images taken with the D200 and the 18-70mm lens and they look very good. The kit lens is a keeper, image quality is awesome, although it is not at the build level of the camera, for $1,000.00 that can be solved, of course this applies not just to the D200 but to all DSLR's. Again, its not the line pairs per mm of resolution that it can resolve, or the 5fps that sets this camera apart; it is the feeling of knowing the camera will be there when you need it.
