Updated February 10, 2006 If the prices of flat-panel plasmas are too much to handle but you still want in on the big-screen HDTV game, check out LCD-projection TVs. Although we prefer DLPs for home-theater picture quality, LCD is catching up fast and doesn't have the rainbow effect that can exist with DLPs. Sony's KDF-E50A10 is our pick of the LCD projection litter so far, and if you have a $3,000 budget, you'll be able to fill out other elements nicely. We suggest a sweet-sounding HTIB, and the Panasonic SC-HT930 is a steal at $400.
