Just a few short months ago, securing a flat-panel LCD HDTV of any size meant you needed to spend an exorbitant amount of money--and you'd still get a TV that couldn't compete with a cheaper plasma. Times have changed, and to prove it, we've put together a full LCD-based home theater for $2,000. The cornerstone is the 37-inch Westinghouse LVM-37W1, which features 1080p resolution and can show more detail than any current plasma. To handle the audio details, we selected the hard-hitting, yet not so compact Onkyo HT-S580, which also happens to be a great bargain. It doesn't include a DVD player though, which is why we spent the last $50 on the Philips DVP642, a versatile DivX-playing powerhouse. Home-theater bundles for every budget:
