A complete home-theater system starts with an excellent HDTV, and for $3,000, you can get something special. Sure, you can find bigger plasmas in the under-50-inch category for around the same price as the Panasonic TH-42PHD8UK, but none of them scored as highly on our ratings for picture quality.
